Sunday Fellowship

Last Sunday Rae Jean and I were in Tennessee with my family in my Aunt Jean's final hours. At Sierra church of Christ we had our Friendship Sunday and the entire 3rd Street church of Christ closed its doors and came over to fill the gap while my wife and I were away. Bill West preached and Edward Branham, along with Ezra, song leader at the 3rd Street congregation, led singing. A fellowship meal followed. We have heard several reports of a good time of fellowship between the two churches. Praise God!

This Sunday, the Third Street preacher will be out of town visiting his family and we are going to return the courtesy. I will be preaching and teaching class, and we will have a fellowship meal to follow. Please come and join us for this time of harmony between congregations.

In the past there has been some rift between the two churches. Most who had any thing to do with those days have passed away or moved away. Effort has been made to make amends. If there are amends that continue to be made, let's do our best to make them. This is the time to tear down any dividing walls of hostility and let the love of Christ cover over a multitude of sins. No one wins by holding grudges. The Spirit of God is quenched and we find ourselves opposing the will of the Lord we submitted ourselves to when we were baptized into Christ.

So join us in prayer, asking God to pour out the oil of His Spirit on the old wounds of the past and heals the rift that satan brought about so many years ago. Let God be glorified in our thoughts and actions. We know that our time here is short. May our God find us reflecting His love toward one another when He comes.
